My Story
The Ocean... watching the waves rolling in, depositing treasures on sandy shores - then rolling out in perfect rhythm. This is my happy place, where I go to clear my thoughts and gather inspiration for my jewelry designs.
I'm Beth, Artisan behind the bench and founder of Kainoa Jewelry Designs. I am fortunate to live in the beautiful province of Nova Scotia, with the rugged ocean and seaweed swept beaches at my doorstep. I am also deeply connected to the people and tropical beauty of the Big Island of Hawaii - where I lived for many years and frequently visit. “Kainoa” – the Hawaiian word meaning “the spirit of the sea, the free flowing ocean” speaks to the nature of my business and also happens to be my son’s middle name.
As a long time jewelry maker and crafter, I am so excited to be starting this new phase of my life – bringing together two oceans – the two places I call home, and my passion for creating handcrafted sterling silver jewelry – with my sweet pups at my feet and the inspiring Atlantic Ocean outside my window.
Each piece I craft is made to be unique – no two pieces are exactly alike, honouring the individuality of its wearer. I value quality over quantity and will never mass produce my jewelry. My design style is earthy and eclectic and my jewelry collections are designed around the people and places that are special and significant to me.
